The 2025 recruiting class features one of the stronger QB classes in recent memory, featuring two quarterbacks with perfect 1.00 ratings (Bryce Underwood, Michigan and Keelon Russell, Alabama) and a versatile and impressive wide receiver class.

Following these players recruitments is getting increasingly difficult, with de-commitments becoming more common, and the NIL world reshaping everything we thought we knew about recruiting.

QB Bryce Underwood - Belleville High School - Belleville, MI Signed to: Michigan

Underwood is the highest rated quarterback prospect since Quinn Ewers, going back to the class of 2021. He had initially committed to LSU, and held his commitment for nearly a calendar year. Then, in November of 2024, Michigan finally pulled off the commitment flip to keep Underwood in state. Underwood demanded a hefty NIL package, and this is widely believed to be the main reason for his commitment flip. Nonetheless, it was a very impressive recruitment job for Sherrone Moore and his staff. While the job will likely be up for competition with Fresno State transfer QB Mikey Keene, Underwood could easily step into the starting role for their week one matchup with New Mexico. In the first season following their 2023/24 national title run, the Michigan offense was completely dormant, mostly due to a revolving door of QB’s, who all performed poorly. Underwood looks to turn the offense around and restore Michigan’s dominance they had under Jim Harbaugh.

RB Harlem Berry - St. Martin’s Episcopal School - Metairie, LA Signed to: LSU

The number one running back in the nation stays in-state to play for LSU. Berry is an extremely shifty, quick back, described as “ultra creative, hyper productive” by 247Sports analyst Gabe Brooks. That may be an understatement. Although he played a lower level of competition, Berry put together four consecutive 2,000 yard seasons. It is worth noting that Harlem Berry is rated as a four-star recruit, because the star ratings are essentially projecting where they will eventually land in the NFL draft, and the value of running backs have dipped significantly in the last few years. Either way, Berry should be an extremely productive back for Brian Kelly’s Tigers, following some development and pounds added.

WR Dakorien Moore - Duncanville High School - Duncanville, TX Signed to: Oregon

Dan Lanning and Oregon land the programs second highest rated player ever, by way of the nation’s best receiver. Moore is a true do-it-all receiver, with the ability to split out wide, or play in the slot. Moore was originally committed to LSU, but decommitted, and flipped to Oregon. He had the highlight of the Under-Armour All American Game, with an electric punt return touchdown, and the highlight of the Polynesian Bowl, with one of the most ridiculous catches you will ever see, followed by a showcase of his dangerous open field ability. Moore plays much bigger than his 5’11” frame, and could find his way into the Ducks’ starting lineup as a true freshman, despite Oregon’s depth at receiver. When Tez Johnson missed time in 2024, the Ducks offense looked disjointed without their shifty, RAC specialist receiver in the game – a role that Moore could easily fill immediately. QB Dante Moore should be able to form an elite connection with Dakorien. Oregon fans should be ready to hear “Moore to Moore” plenty of times in 2025, and going forward.

TE - Linkon Cure - Goodland High School - Goodland, KS - Signed to: Kansas State

The only five star tight end in the class of 2025 had his choice of power conference schools, but ultimately chose to stay in-state, despite heavy interest from schools like Alabama, Oregon, and Texas A&M. 247Sports director of scouting described Cure as alignment flexible, and “animated with the ball in his hands.” One of many dual-sport athletes on this list, Cure is a talented basketball player, which shows up in his play, specifically at the catch-point. One of the most consistent teams in the Big 12 signed their tight end of the future, and could end up seeing significant snaps as a true freshman, giving second year starter QB Avery Johnson an option who can play all over the field.

OT - Michael Fasusi - Lewisville High School - Lewisville, TX - Signed to: Oklahoma

Oklahoma landed their third highest rated recruit in program history, an elite, 6’5”, 295lb offensive tackle. Fasusi is positional versatile, and could be expected to fill any role along the offensive line early on in his career. While it is extremely rare for any offensive lineman to play significant snaps as a true freshman, especially in such a defensive line dominant conference like the SEC, Oklahoma can expect a future stud in Fasusi.

IOL - Michael Carroll - IMG Academy - Bradenton, FL - Signed to: Alabama

Kalen de Boer’s first full cycle as Alabama head coach earns a huge commitment – literally and metaphorically. Carroll has a wrestling background, and his parents were both impressive athletes in their own right, two things that are almost always a good sign for offensive linemen. De Boer’s 2023 Washington team, which finished as a national runner-up featured an incredibly dominant offensive line, so it is no coincidence de Boer and his staff went and got “their guy” in the class of ‘25.

DL - Elijah Griffin - Savannah Christian Prep - Savannah, GA - Signed to: Georgia

Chad Simmons - On3

Kirby Smart adds to his riches on the defensive line with Elijah Griffin, who looks to be the next great Georgia lineman. Griffin stands at 6’5”, 300 lbs. 247Sports director of scouting Andrew Ivins said that Griffin is “equipped with the size, length, quickness and power to handle both one and two-gap responsibilities in a variety of different alignments as he can charge up field or take on double teams in the middle.” Because of the depth on Georgia’s defensive line, it may be tough for Griffin to see significant snaps early, but he is a future NFL-er in the making.

EDGE - Isaiah Gibson - Warner Robins HS - Warner Robins, GA - Signed to: Georgia

Benjamin Wolk - 247Sports

Gibson was ultra productive in high school, and is already at a true edge rusher size, at nearly 6’4”, 270. As well, he could be position-versatile, lining up as a stand up outside linebacker, or with his hand in the ground as a true defensive end. Kirby Smart and Glen Schuman’s defense is about as creative as it gets when it comes to blitz and coverage packages, and with incorporating simulated pressures. Fans can count on Gibson being productive taking all the talent he has, mixed with the great program and scheme he enters.

LB - Zayden Walker - Schley County High School - Ellaville, GA - Signed to: Georgia

Jed May - Rivals

Walker was a two-way player in high school, and defensively played on the edge until his senior year. He dominated the Georgia high school scene on both sides of the ball, and demonstrates elite range and versatility from the off-ball linebacker spot. His speed will allow him to be used in a variety of ways, and could be used as a blitz/pass rush package linebacker early on. Kirby Smart and Georgia round out an all-time front seven recruiting class, keeping the three best players at their position in-state.

SAF - Jonah Williams - Ball High School - Galveston, TX - Signed to: Texas

Williams fits the exact mold of the modern defensive back, well over 6 feet, and right around 200 lbs. The Galveston, Texas native has an incredibly rare athletic profile. 247Sports' Gabe Brooks feels that Williams could play receiver in college instead of defensive back, has early round MLB draft potential, an elite basketball player, and an excellent track runner. Williams has excellent range, and great instincts around the ball. Texas looks to continue their great safeties rooms under head coach Steve Sarkisian with Jonah Williams. He will also be playing baseball for the Longhorns.

CB - Devin Sanchez - North Shore High School - Houston, TX - Signed to: Ohio State

Jordan Scruggs - 247Sports

The major shift in recruiting at the position the last few cycles is the emergence of the very tall, long armed, lanky corners. Sanchez fits that mold to a tee, and allows him to always be around the ball, and never in a bad position in coverage. He comes from a dominant team in North Shore. Under Ryan Day, Ohio State has not been afraid to play defensive backs early and often, and nobody is a better candidate to do so, in order to cover the growing list of elite receivers in the Big Ten. If he does play as a freshman, he will be helped by an elite secondary around him, particularly at the safety spots.
