As we all know, excellent recruiting classes (usually) translate to excellent results on the field. Texas and head coach Steve Sarkisian have dominated on the trail the last few cycles, and haul in their first #1 class. All of these teams are exactly who you would expect, having deep coaching staffs that are excellent recruiters, and deep pockets in the NIL department.
1) Texas Longhorns

25 Commits, 93.63 average recruit ranking
Coach Sarkisian lands his first ever #1 composite class, headlined by safety Jonah Williams, defensive lineman Justus Terry, and a wide receiver duo of Kaliq Lockett and Jaime Ffrench. Texas has been a recruiting powerhouse under Sark, and shows no sign of slowing down. Highest rated recruits: Jonah Williams (#1 SAF) Justus Terry (#3 DL) Kaliq Lockett (#2 WR). This is Texas' fourth straight top ten recruiting class, three of those being in the top five. Coach Sark and his staff have been recruiting like a national bully as of late.
2) Georgia Bulldogs

27 Commits, 93.03 average recruit ranking
The Bulldogs absolutely dominated the front seven recruits in the 2025 cycle, landing the number one defensive lineman, linebacker, and edge rusher. Kirby Smart and his staff landed some nice weapons to line up outside in WR Talyn Taylor, and TE Elyiss Williams. The Dawgs have pulled top three classes every year but one since 2017, and the one outlier year (2021), they finished fourth. Highest rated recruits: Elijah Griffin (#1 DL) Isaiah Gibson (#1 EDGE) Juan Gaston (#4 OT)
3) Alabama Crimson Tide

21 Commits, 93.42 average recruit ranking
Kalen de Boer picks up a lot of momentum on the recruiting trail, grabbing the #2 QB in the class of 2025 (who has a perfect 1.00 rating) Keelon Russell, from Duncanville Texas. One of the main questions around de Boer following his hire was if he could recruit the south well. While some of this class may be early momentum, and the last leftovers from Nick Saban, there were recruits who needed a flip from a school to the Tide, including Russell. Alabama acquired talent all over the place, including an impressive offensive line class. Highest rated recruits: Keelon Russell (#2 QB) Michael Carroll (#1 IOL) Dijon Lee (#2 CB)
4) Ohio State Buckeyes

26 Commits, 92.46 average recruit ranking
Ryan Day and the Buckeyes keep stacking elite classes, and the 2025 edition is no different. The quantity of the class comes in the front seven defensive positions, but the quality is at the skill spots. The nation’s number three quarterback Tavien St. Clair will be joined by a group of talented running backs and wide receivers, including five star talent Quincy Porter. Highest rated recruits: Tavien St. Clair (#3 QB) Devin Sanchez (#1 CB) Quincy Porter (#4 WR)
5) Oregon Ducks

20 Commits, 94.37 average recruit ranking
Dan Lanning and his staff went quality over quantity in the 2025 cycle, taking only 20 recruits. After going very defensive line focused in his first cycles, Lanning and his staff went heavy on skill positions, including the best defensive back class of the year, which earned co-DC and DB coach Chris Hampton 247Sports Recruiter of the Year Award. Four of Oregon’s top five recruits are DB’s. Legendary Oregon QB Akili Smith’s son is the only QB in this class, Akili Smith Jr. He will eventually be throwing to the nation’s best receiver in Dakorien Moore. Highest rated recruits: Dakorien Moore (#1 WR) Na’eem Offord (#3 CB) Brandon Finney (#8 CB).
